One of America’s most controversial writers and editors died in New York this morning at the age of 90. Helen Gurley Brown published “Sex and the Single Girl” in 1962 and was the editor of Cosmopolitan magazine for 32 years. She was hailed as a champion of women’s rights and denounced by feminist leaders, including Gloria Steinem.
