If family members suspect a relative of being dangerous to himself or others, they should be able to ask a judge to take away guns — or the right to buy them. That's according to a bill introduced in the State Assembly in the aftermath of Friday's shooting rampage near UC Santa Barbara. The alleged killer's mother warned Sheriff's deputies, but they didn't find any problem. Would the proposed law have made any difference? Is it an invitation to “turn in your neighbor?
