Shooting Rampage at Santa Monica College

Hosted by

School opened this morning on a campus still reeling from the shooting deaths of three people last Friday. Counseling is being provided for shaken students, faculty and staff members. To establish the closest thing possible to business as usual, graduation will be held as scheduled tomorrow — but with uniformed security. The library, where the shooter was gunned down by police, is still closed. KCRW is back in its offices and we're broadcasting from our own basement studios. We hear how the recovery has been going today.

Image-for-WWLA.jpgOn our rebroadcast of today's To the Point, revelations about massive data collection by the National Security Agency have re-ignited debate about striking a balance between personal privacy and secrecy in the interests of national security.  We hear about the latest leaker of classified information and get very different accounts of how the law and the Constitution apply.
