Schwarzenegger's Proposed Budget Cuts in Home Healthcare

Governor Schwarzenegger is proposing to cut a program established 30 years ago by then-Governor Ronald Reagan. California In-Home Supportive Services provides low-income elderly and disabled people enough help so they can live at home, rather than going to nursing homes, which advocates say will be more expensive. Some 300,000 people could be affected. The disabled, and their assistants, are asking the Terminator not to make cuts supporters are calling painful and counter-productive.
