Edith Shain is a retired Los Angeles Unified school teacher who went back to Times Square today as Grand Marshall of New York's Veterans Day Parade. She insists that she was the nurse who was coming out of the subway in 1945 to be grabbed and kissed by a sailor celebrating the end of World War II. The photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt took their picture, which became one of Life magazine's most famous covers. She's in New York, ready to take a plane to come back to LA.
