Illegal in California, many claim that animal cruelty is practiced anyway by the veal, pork and egg industries. Prop 2 would provide that animals raised for food be housed in more humane circumstances. Also, the conditions leading to deadly fires and nightmarish traffic.

Prop 2 would provide that calves, pigs and chickens be housed in cages that allow them to lie down, stand up, fully extend their limbs and turn around.
