California "Right to Die" Legislation Revived

This year in Sacramento, a so-called "Right to Die" bill passed in the Senate, but the Catholic Church and other opponents stopped it in an Assembly Committee. Now Governor Brown has declared a special legislative session, and membership in the committee has changed.

This year in Sacramento, a so-called "Right to Die" bill passed in the Senate, but the Catholic Church and other opponents stopped it in an Assembly Committee. Now Governor Brown has declared a special legislative session, and membership in the committee has changed. Sponsors of the "Right to Die" bill seized an unexpected opportunity, and the bill now appears to be on its way to the Assembly floor. Marisa Lagos is a political reporter for KQED, public radio and television in San Francisco.
