President Bush today ordered new economic sanctions against Sudan, in an attempt to pressure the government there to end the bloodshed in Darfur. Calling the crisis a genocide that "challenges the conscience of the world," Bush urged Sudanese President Bashir to "end the campaign of violence" and allow peacekeepers into the region.
