The Islamic State—ISIS or ISIL—has been called a threat to the US homeland, but that’s now said to be a distortion of what’s happening in the Middle East. Intelligence officials have identified other groups emerging from the Syrian civil war that may be targeting the West more directly. Not much is known about Khorasan, but that’s the name of a terrorist group identified by the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, Jrs.
