The Obama Administration now admits that air travel security failed on Christmas Day. It's beefing up measures at airports and in the air. At the same time it’s going all out to determine how a bomb was smuggled onto an airplane where it took action by passengers to stop it from being ignited. Could existing technology have provided better security? Has it been held off by concerns about cost, privacy and profiling?
