The Reuters News Service has reported what federal regulators did not know—that major poultry farms consistently feed their flocks low levels of antibiotics. Public health experts call that a recipe for creating antibiotic “superbugs” resistant to one of the “miracles of modern medicine.” But it’s not illegal, and the chicken industry insists the warning is overblown.
