    Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown is up for re-election, and two lieutenants have stepped up to challenge him. This week, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association voted to endorse one of Brown’s competitors, Lt. Brian Olmstead, citing low morale and staffing issues as the main reasons for the union’s call for change.
