The California Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to reduce vaccine exemptions. The bill is now on Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk, but its fate is up in the air. Newsom says he wants substantial changes.

The California Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to reduce vaccine exemptions. The bill is now on Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk, but its fate is up in the air. Newsom says he wants substantial changes. But earlier this summer, he said he'd sign the current version. There isn’t much time for lawmakers to make the changes Newsom wants. This year’s session ends next Friday.
