Former White House Counsel Don McGahn was a no-show at today’s House Judiciary Committee hearing. On orders from the White House, McGahn defied the committee’s subpoena.
Democrats did score a victory in court yesterday. A federal judge in DC told Donald Trump’s accounting firm that they had to turn over some of the president’s financial records as part of another subpoena.
Also, transcripts from Michael Cohen’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee were made public yesterday. Cohen is Trump’s former lawyer and fixer. In the transcripts, Cohen alleges that Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow encouraged him to lie about the timeline of the Trump Tower Russia project.
