Remembering the Black Cat protest for gay rights, 50 years later

In 1967, undercover cops raided a New Year’s Eve party at the Black Cat Tavern in Silver Lake, arresting gay patrons. Neighborhood activists then gathered for a gay rights demonstration at the bar. The 50th anniversary of the protest is Saturday.
