The Triforium is a giant, psychedelic sculpture downtown, across the street from city hall. When it was unveiled 40 years ago today, its artist thought it would become the Eiffel Tower of Los Angeles, an iconic symbol of the city. Instead, it was ridiculed and allowed to fall into disrepair. But now there’s a plan to bring it back. Madeleine goes into the field to tell the saga of L.A.’s most misunderstood piece of public art.
