There’s a fleet of electric scooters taking over Santa Monica. Maybe you’ve seen them on sidewalks or rolling down the street. The company that operates them is called BIRD. It was started by former Uber employees. Users can download the BIRD app to find a Scooter nearby and rent one for $1 plus 15 cents a minute. You can leave the scooter anywhere when you’re done.
