Desierto: A political horror film

Hundreds of migrants die each year crossing the border between Mexico and the United States. Many die of exposure in the brutal desert heat, some drown in the Rio Grande. In a suspenseful new movie, the odds for one group of immigrants crossing the badlands are worse than normal… because they’re being hunted by an American armed with a rifle and a vicious dog. The story may be a bit-far fetched. But there’s something about the film that speaks to the desperation of the people trying to find a new life in the US - and the Americans who feel overwhelmed by immigrants coming across the border.
