What would you do if 14 years’ worth of your work disappeared? That’s a question that writer and artist Dennis Cooper has been asking himself for the last few weeks. At the end of June, Cooper tried to log in to his Google-managed blog and it was gone: no content, no archives, no explanation. Cooper used the blog to save most of his work, for instance, he recently published a GIF novel (yes, a novel composed of GIFs) completely on the blog. And beyond using the blog as a primary publishing platform, he also used it to interact with fans and other writers on a daily basis.
