Federal investigators are looking into whether extortion, bribery and other crimes were committed to get billions of dollars of development projects off the ground in downtown LA. Last November, the FBI raided the offices of Councilman Jose Huizar, who represents most of downtown. A newly obtained search warrant names executives from Chinese development firms and other city hall figures. As of now, no charges have been filed in what appears to be a widening investigation.
