President Trump tweeted yesterday that it is time for the U.S. to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Israel took that land from Syria in 1967. The international community has never recognized the annexation. All of this comes just a few days before the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be there. Notably absent will be several prominent Democrats running for president.
Ahead of Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, where do US-Israeli relations stand?
