The Dodgers kick off a two-game series against the Oakland A’s up in the Bay Area tomorrow. And entering into this series, the Dodgers are leading the National League Western Division…which they also lead last year. Not that it mattered: the Dodgers were bounced by the Cardinals in the postseason. But with the biggest payroll in the major leagues, an ownership group that paid $2 billion for the team a few years ago, and an $8 billion deal with Time-Warner Cable, the Dodgers do win the money game.
