In the often terrifying natural world, it’s literally eat or be eaten. Before you get eaten, however, you must spread your seed, so to speak, in order to ensure the survival of your species. In the wild, where a new threat lurks around every corner and producing offspring is paramount, creatures have evolved some pretty freaky survival strategies – like penis-fencing, for instance.
Some of those creatures are featured in a new book titled “The Wasp That Brainwashed the Caterpillar.” Madeleine speaks to the author.
