L.A. schools superintendent John Deasy has written a blistering six-page memo defending the iPad program and the bidding process. He has temporarily halted the program, not because he doesn’t believe in it, but because -- in his words -- it’s been sidetracked by insinuations, innuendos, and misleading statements. Meanwhile several board members are pushing for an internal report on the procurement process to be made public.
