What it was like to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan in the late 1970?

Ron Stallworth was the first black detective in the history of the Colorado Springs Police Department. In 1978, he infiltrated the local chapter of the KKK. His cover was so successful that he was offered to lead the chapter, and he talked with national director, David Duke. He published his memoir in 2014. Spike Lee’s latest film was based on the book, which was reissued recently to serve as a companion to the film.
