LA sheriff blocked from disclosing names of 300 problem deputies

The LA County Sheriff’s Department has identified 300 deputies with histories of misconduct. That’s 3 percent of the department, which has more than 9000 deputies. Sheriff Jim McDonnell wants to send that list to prosecutors. But a court said no after the deputies union objected.
