Pandemic slowed progress on closing gender pay gap in CA

Despite years of progress, California women make 89% of what men do for full-time work, according to a new report. The gap is worse for many women of color.

The COVID-19 pandemic stifled California women’s progress in bridging the gender equity gap. On average, women still make 89% of what men do for full-time work, according to a new report from Mount St. Mary’s University.

Women without college degrees and women who dropped out of the workforce to raise children during the pandemic were hit the hardest.
