More than two thirds of transgender or gender-non-conforming people say they have been verbally harassed, denied access, or even physically assaulted trying to use public restrooms. That’s why this month, the LA County Board of Supervisors voted to expand the number of bathrooms designed to be used by everybody, without regard to gender identity.
