The Watts of today may look a lot different than it did in 1965 — more than 70 percent of Watts residents identify as Latino. But many locals say the same problems that plagued Watts at the time of the riots remain.
“It feels as if we are asking for the same resources that were offered, but later removed,” Cynthia Gonzalez, a professor at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, told Warren Olney on Which Way L.A.?
