Las Palabras, or Words in English, is the Spanish-language solo project of punk-scene veteran and member of !!! (Chk Chk Chk) — Rafael Cohen. Of his sophomore album Fe (Faith), Cohen says: “[it] deals with what it means to have faith, what it means to have doubts, and what it means to stay open to the idea that something untouchable and unknowable may exist”.
Inspired by the bachatas he hears blasting out of car windows from his apartment in Brooklyn, “La Misma Luna” is a duet with singer Angélica Garcia. The two artists share similar musical backgrounds, rounded out by a colorful palette of genres. A favorite line from “La Misma Luna” translates loosely to, “while we are half a world away, look up at the sky, you’ll see the same moon I’m looking at.”
