Nashville-based singer/songwriter Jobi Riccio has a long fascination with what she calls “the bleeding heart sad country song,” which draws us into the emotive power of the genre.
Eleven songs make up her debut album, Whiplash, mostly written and recorded in her rowdy late teens and early twenties, capture an artist on the rise who made her debut this summer at the legendary Newport Folk Festival where she was honored with the John Prine Songwriter Fellowship Award.
