The KCRW Top 30 officially has its first streak of 2025(!). For the third week in a row, Polo & Pan's 22:22 is holding firm at the very top. Can a couple of swoon-worthy Coachella sets keep them in prime position for one (or more) additional weeks? The suspense, we love to see it. It's all the more impressive that P&P held firm, because Stereolab (no. 2) and Pulp (no. 5) each decided to release their first new music in over a decade last week. In other news, Parcels remain "safeandsound" in the top 5 at no. 3, following last week's MBE Guest Selector set.
Trending Upwards: All eyes remain on Hannah Cohen, whose Earthstar Mountain just keeps getting more and more spins each week... and has now ventured all the way to no. 4 on our Top 30 Chart.
New and Notable: Avant-garde greats Brian Eno and Beatie Wolfe have found the time and space to ready two full, collaborative albums for release via Verve Records on June 6th. Luminal is credited to Wolfe first and promises a more "song-based" experience, whereas Lateral is led by Eno and is an ambient record. Fittingly, the pair have dropped one single from each — "Suddenly" b/w "Big Empty Country" — and we bet you can guess which song is from which LP. Plus, Arcade Fire celebrates the "Year of the Snake" and Vegyn reimagines Air's classic Moon Safari.
