As the countdown continues to what soul-crooner Leon Bridges is calling his most personal LP to date (Leon, due Oct. 4 via Sony) he’s gifted us with “Laredo,” the album’s second single. It’s a smoldering story song that’ll have you scrambling for someone to help you slow dance the night away — and that’ll happen before you’ve even heard a note of Jim Hoke’s transcendent flute work in the back half of the track.

New and notable: Actual indie rock goddess Kim Deal arrives ahead of her forthcoming debut(!) solo album Nobody Loves You More. Wanna know how we feel about that? Press here.
