The brand new single from Toronto jazz-funk group BADBADNOTGOOD has landed at no. 1 on KCRW's Top 30. They’ve teamed with Brazilian singer-songwriter-composer Tim Bernardes for some holiday-season-ready tropicalia via new single “Poeira Cosmica” and clearly, we're obsessed. Also landing among KCRW’s most played records at last is Like Someone I Know: A Celebration of Margo Guryan. The covers comp in homage to the enigmatic-yet-deeply relatable pop-folk-jazz artist is out now in full through the legendary indie label Sub Pop. It features such KCRW faves as Clairo, MUNA, Rahill, and June McDoom. And for something a little different, we direct your attention to the no. 30 end of the Top 30 to note Mk.gee, now in his fourth consecutive week on the chart with his single “ROCKMAN.” It’s a fitting cap to a major week for the artist which saw his blistering Saturday Night Live performance debut in the midst of an already supercharged year.

New and notable: This is KCRW, so when our pals at Rhino Records release the “Super Deluxe Edition” of Talking Heads ‘77 we get the assignment and spring into action to ensure it has a place among our most played records of the week. And speaking of Talking Heads, British-born, Nigerian spoken word artist Joshua Idehen finally makes his way onto our chart with his debut EP Mum Does the Washing. On that EP, you’ll find a beautiful rendition of what is perhaps the Heads signature song — "Once in A Lifetime.”
