KAYTRANADA always delivers the hits. Photo by Hannah Sider

Here in Los Angeles, we've been increasingly treated to the "blue skies and golden sunshine all along the way," that have been absent for the bulk of 2024. Naturally, it's making us want to dance. Canadian producer KAYTRANADA's latest, TIMELESS, is proving to be just what we need with it's wall-to-wall assemblage of house-hop groovers. Plus, it's always a thrill to welcome Toro y Moi into a new sonic era. We're detecting significant emo vibes from "Tuesday," the lead single ahead of Chaz Bear (& friends') forthcoming LP Hole Erth — due Sept. 6 via Dead Oceans. Toro y Emo?? Let's go.

New and notable: LA-via-Belarus post-punks Molchat Doma make their Top 30 Chart debut in the no. 30 spot. Can they catch a (dark) wave to higher points on the list in the coming weeks? Watch this space.
