Huzzah! Panda Bear’s Sinister Grift is out in full. Each single leading up to release enjoyed a solid KCRW chart run, so it’s no surprise that our DJs gave the full LP the most spins over the past week. Fans of PB’s Pet Sounds-indebted oeuvre will find plenty to love here, and the ways in which Sinister Grift’s playful first half dissolves into the more tonally experimental back half are extremely satisfying. 

New and notable: Toro y Moi + Kenny Beats made a song about my cat(!)... Well, not really, but they did just release a Japanese b-side from the 2024 LP Hole Erth called “Daria,” which is my cat’s name. The song itself sounds slightly menacing and seriously funky. It will stay in regular rotation around these parts (meaning my personal home) for the foreseeable future.
