Deft composer of intricate indie pop sir Was has been anointed KCRW’s most played artist. After weeks spent hovering near the margins of the top ten, the enterprising Swede has claimed the No. 1 spot over a month in advance of one of our most eagerly anticipated fall albums, “Let The Morning Come.”
As for the rest of the top ten, it’s beginning to look a lot like Global Beat Australia. Our favorite GBA success story, Hector Morlet, rests at No. 7 after another epic week of chart climbing. Fellow Aussie Sampology claims No. 10 in celebration of the release of his latest (excellent) full length, “Regrowth.” And to wrap things up a little closer to home, it’s nice to see KCRW Top 30 constant Brittany Howard back in the top ten. We’re so excited for her rapidly approaching show at the Hollywood Bowl, and we would love to have you join us as a winner of one of the five pairs of tickets we’re currently giving away. Enter now for your chance!
