KCRW Music Relief: We're Here to Help
Music has always been at the heart of KCRW. In the ongoing aftermath of the January 2025 LA wildfires, the community of musicians that help define the voice of the city have seen their homes, studios, instruments, equipment, and livelihoods decimated. KCRW is working towards supporting those that have given us so much through their music and work.
We hope our collective efforts can make a difference in rebuilding our music community. We also hope that through our music programming we can be a source of comfort, companionship, and even a moment of escape to our listeners.
This hub is dedicated to sharing resources, stories, events, and music, while collectively working towards supporting the musicians that are part of the cultural fabric of the city through their sounds and songs.
Please note: The resources below are specific to musicians and music workers impacted by the fires. For general resources on getting help and giving help, visit kcrw.com/firehelp.

- Los Angeles Rising
(Various Artists)
This comp was crystallized and brought into being by a team from the music community of LA, under the guise of musician Kevin Haskins (Love and Rockets, Bauhaus) and producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, IDLES), who joined forces after witnessing the destruction of the homes and livelihoods of so many fellow artists in the LA wildfires. They've dug into their own archives for unheard gems and tapped like-minded artists for their own contributions, including PJ Harvey, Jarvis Cocker, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Devo, Primal Scream, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Danny Elfman, and more. It's mega. Available exclusively on Bandcamp, all proceeds go directly to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
- Passional Relations EP
Big Thief
Acclaimed indie rock band Big Thief assembled some of their favorite unreleased songs into a new EP — only available on their webstore — with all proceeds going toward providing relief for those impacted by the LA wildfires. The majority of proceeds will be donated to the PLUS1LA Fires Fund, which directly supports organizations addressing critical needs like housing, education, animal welfare, and more. The rest will go directly to local musicians, artists, and community members who need extra support during this time.
- For Our Friends: A Disaster Relief Compilation
Aloha Got Soul

We know the road is long. We saw this happen with Maui — we know and understand the devastation and uncertainty. We will do what we can to help along the way."
100% of proceeds go to verified sources to support relief efforts for those affected by the wildfires.
