This week we feature recent in-studio performances by artists with a wide range of styles and sounds.
We'll start with Australia's Jagwar Ma. The trio blends electronic elements with psychedelic rock to create unique sounds which highlight their debut release Howlin'. This album made several of the KCRW DJ's top ten lists for 2013, and we were very excited to have them in studio towards the end of their North American tour.
Now we turn to a KCRW favorite, Yuna. The Malaysian singer and songwriter is an extremely talented young artist whose influences range from Coldplay to Feist. Her latest release Nocturnal has songs with surefire pop appeal and her lyrics are honest and sincere.
Lastly we hear from Seattle, Washington's own The Head & The Heart. The indie-folk collective released their second full-length on the Sub Pop label in October of last year and have been touring extensively behind it. Recently, we welcomed them in studio for a live session where they played a few new songs.
