Lord Huron is a band for which atmosphere is everything. The brainchild of singer/songwriter Ben Schneider, the band have just released their sophomore album, Strange Trails, and like the first it is a dreamy collection of folk-flavored songs that sound like they could actually be heard echoing throughout the backwoods of Schneider's home state of Michigan (instead of actually being created in the hustle and bustle of urban Los Angeles, where he and the band now reside). Even their videos depict a time gone by, full of dusty prairies, lonesome trails and sepia-toned photographs. It's a precious approach, all the more special for being so well done. We are pleased to have them return to the KCRW studios for a live performance.
