Fanatic! As far as I'm concerned, it's spring. I know it's not spring as far as the calendar is concerned but winter is a hard sell in March, no matter how cold it might be where you are. So, that's what we're going with until summer.
A few things to bring up.
Kikagaku Moyo is playing at the Regent on Wednesday March 6. That's this coming Wednesday. Can't wait for this one.
Did you see OM play there last week? What a show! Really cool but also frustrating is the Sleep 4LP live set Third Man is releasing very soon. It was one of those records where you had to be a member to get it but capitalism has its ways and of course, the flippers put them on auction sites that are probably quite familiar to you now. I'm glad that the set is coming out but I wish it wasn't as difficult to get a copy. Months ago, I was talking to Al, of Sleep and OM and he said that this might be coming out this year. Can't wait to hear this one.
Saint Vitus will be releasing a new album in May, featuring Scott Reagers on vocals. Excited for this one.
Meanwhile, Mark Adams, the band's original bass player is fighting Parkinson's. Here's an easy way to help.
If you're interested in the Trash On!!! 6LP set, info is here. It's really good. I've been doing an LP a day to try to make it last. I'm down to the last one.
Anna Nasty / Olivia Neutron-John has a new video for her upcoming record. So cool!
We have a great show lined up for you, with all the bands and other stuff that we were talking about above. Also, you'll notice our live Le Butcherettes track. Thanks Gerhard!
I was just sent some records that will be out soonish that I'm not going to tell you about until the labels announce but all I can say is, if we're still on KCRW this year, there's going to be a lot of great music to play. Next month will be ten years for Engineer X and I at the K!!!
Feel the thaw and STAY FANATIC!!!
