Annie Clark, the singer-songwriter who performs under the moniker St. Vincent, was a member of The Polyphonic Spree and also part of Sufjan Stevens' touring band, prior to forming her own band.
She debuted with Marry Me in 2007, a naive and ideal collection of songs about life and love all written at a tender age. Her second release, Actor, was a very enchanting and cinematic approach to composition, we were happy to have her on as a guest on MBE at the release of this album. Check out that session below.
Her third album, Strange Mercy is more of the St. Vincent that we love, and sets a more experimental tone than the previous efforts. Stream it in its entirety here.
Strange Mercy will be available to stream on demand from September 5 through September 18, 2011. The album will be released September 13.
