Best Coast’s new album is a summer stunner and I’m proud to say they’re based right here in LA. The Beach Boys were my first every favorite band and I think I still judge most bands based on what I loved most about them –harmonies and lyrics that painted vivid, colorful pictures. Best Coast’s album “Crazy For You” certainly accomplishes that. Singer Bethany Consentino’s vibrant energy is infectious on pop tunes like “Boyfriend” and the title track. My only complaint about the album is that it’s over too soon. Short and sweet!

Best Coast will be back in LA on September 4 to perform as part of the FYF Fest at LA State Historic Park.

Editor’s Note: I posted recently about a collaboration between Bethany, Kid Cudi and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij called “All Summer” that is worth checking out.

Editor’s 2nd Note: I read a piece on Spinner about Best Coast where one of the commenter mentioned hearing it first on KCRW. Love that!
