Lapsley: Artist You Should Know

Music Director Jason Bentley did a little digging for new music on Soundcloud over the holiday break and a track by Liverpool artist Lapsley emerged as his favorite.

He says the track “Falling Short” is already “on fire” in the UK and on the BBC’s hot list. The track leads her 4-song “Understudy” EP released this week.

Fans of James Blake should love this minimalist electronica with soulful vocals.

The young artist – she’s just 18! – is poised to make a big impact in 2015.

She has a classical background – playing oboe, piano and guitar – so it will be interesting to see where she goes from here.

One to watch for sure.
