He’s released a grand total of three songs in his career on a tiny label based out of the UK so, if you don’t know who Josef Salvat is, I’ll totally give you a pass. For now.

By this time next time year, though, there’s a pretty good chance that everyone you know, including your mother will know the name Josef Salvat.

I know, I know, it sounds hyperbolic but the dude has got it.

First, let’s backtrack — who is Josef Salvat?

Josef Salvat is an Australian singer-songwriter based out of London. He’s a sensitive male crooner-type, whose music can still appeal to people who aren’t necessarily into male crooner types (like me).

He first came onto my radar a little over a year ago when he released the incredible single, “This Life“. I couldn’t believe my ears when I first heard it and needed to find more, but it was kind of a tease, because that was the only song to his name at the time. This past summer, he released “Hustler” — another great track. Then, at the end of last year came “Every Night” and I was all in on Josef Salvat.

I have no idea when a full length is coming from him, but hopefully he’s working on it. Assuming it’s got those three tracks on it, I can already tell you it’s going to be great.

Editor’s Note: This piece was originally supposed to run as a SXSW preview but then Josef decided to skip the fest to finish his album, which hopefully we’ll hear soon.
