Remember festivals? Those grand communal gatherings where we revel in great music, art, and companions? They may seem a distant memory, but we’re close. So close.
If you’re feeling a little rusty, or just anxious about rejoining the masses, KCRW is here to help you emerge from your Covid cocoon with our very own virtual festival of calm. Enter: 24 Hours of Serenity, going down from midnight through 11:59 p.m. on April 18.
We’ve got a full day (and night) of serene activities and blissed out music to help you prepare for the monumental transition. In addition to soothing sessions like a massage workshop and kitten cam, we’ve got a loaded schedule of sonic goodness from some of our favorite KCRW DJs, artists, and friends.
Our Moments of Serenity O.G. Garth Trinidad returns for a guided meditation session and performance with songstress Valerie June, a session on music and resilience with powerhouse esperanza spalding, hosted by MBE’s own Novena Carmel. We’ll also be screening a dinnertime performance of Tuareg greats Tinariwen’s KCRW Apogee session.
At night, tune in for deep grooves courtesy KCRW DJs Valida and Jeremy Sole, plus sound baths from the DoLaB, and tunes from our friends over at Dublab.
It all kicks off Sunday at midnight. RSVP now — it’s free! — and check out the full schedule below.
