Daring and assaultive, the work of artist Steve McQueen forces us to ask questions about the way we inhabit space. The Turner Award-winner has moved into feature films with his directorial debut, Hunger, based on the 1981 IRA hunger strike in Northern Ireland's infamous Maze prison. McQueen (Bear, Drumroll) has won several awards for the film, including the prestigious Camera D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
