The crowd-funding website, kickstarter.com, got a new high-profile film project yesterday. The site has been used to bring art projects, documentaries, inventions and the like to fruition, but now it's kick started the budget for a movie brought to you by Hollywood insiders. Actress Kristen Bell and TV writer/producer Rob Thomas launched the Veronica Mars Movie Project and within a day met their $2 million goal. Today they're pushing $3 million. Veronica Mars was a short-lived TV series that aired for two years on UPN then for one on the CW. Now their rabid fans are hoping to see a movie. And today -- off of the kickstarter campaign's success -- Warner Bros gave the movie a green light. Will this change the way movies are funded?
