Chris Rock (I Think I Love My Wife, The Chris Rock Show, In Living Color, Everybody Hates Chris, Saturday Night Live) is known for his potent and direct stand-up comedy. As a filmmaker he’s turned that same unblinking eye on himself and black culture. His newest film, the documentary Good Hair, he weaves a new strand of truth in his examination of the profitable and self-denying world of black-hair culture.
Rock reveals his inspiration for the film, his struggle to get it made, his love of language and Bernie Mac, and the absence of women and black men on late-night television.
