Tultepec, Mexico is a city that calls itself the “capital of pyrotechnics” – every year, it erupts in a blaze of fire and color for an entire week. The rest of the time, the residents are making fireworks for the whole country. “Brimstone & Glory” captures the rituals and the danger of this town and its annual festival. Oscilloscope will release it later this month.
The Document will screen this spectacular, gorgeous and occasionally nail-biting film for KCRW sustainers at the Downtown Independent on Thursday the 19th.
